Our
Aims These programs exist
to provide free legal services to individuals who
have little or no income. Services are provided by
lawyers and paralegals who have expertise in the
cases most commonly encountered by individuals living
below or near the poverty level. Eligibility for service
is determined, in part, by income guidelines, women,
senior citizens, and children.Who can get help from
legal aid, a kind of judicial relief. You
know "It's a serious problem when four out of five
low-income people arrive at the court door and
essentially discover they cannot afford the price of
admission,". they have no choice to withdraw case
. Through your little help will mean
thousands more families can access critical legal advice
when they need it the most."
Representation in cases is by contacting
a helping hand program -- also known as volunteer lawyer
programs. Other programs provide legal
representation for a wide range of legal problems.
